UPDATE--  The pass is now closed off.   Water no longer flows through so most of the fishing information below is no longer valid.  It is still a nice beach for shelling and sunsets and fishing into the gulf, but  the vast number of snook that used to be  under the bridge are gone now.

Blind Pass is at the tip of Sanibel Island and   separates Sanibel from Captiva Island.  This is one of the larger parking lots with 21 public, 6 AB permit, and 1 handicap on the Sanibel side of the bridge and about 20 parking spots on the Captiva side.  The shelling in this area is some of the best you will find.  By connecting the bay with the gulf the flow of waters wash up seashells that inhabit both of these areas.  After a good storm blows through it is covered with seashells.  The fishing here is also superb, from snook under and off the bridge, sharks in the summer, and tailing redfish on the bayside flats.  In the winter sheepshead are also caught by the bridge pilings.  A popular spot to watch the Sanibel sunset!

Good fishing from the bridge.  Especially for snook at night
