Bailey road beach access point is one of the best ones for fishing on Sanibel.  It is one of a few that are on the bay side of Sanibel and provides about 6 parking spots (depending if any trailers are parked there).  There is plenty of beach frontage to sun yourself and also some big Australian pine trees that can provide some shade if desired.  Shelling can be good although a majority of the seashells found will be live ones and the keeping of those is prohibited by Sanibel law.   Fishing here is unlimited with snook, redfish, seatrout, flounder (in the fall), and more being caught.  Bait is also usually abundant and can be captured with a cast net.
